Let’s have a reunion

Friday, March 31st, 2006

So I havn’t posted a blog on here for a while - I wanted to post one now so my guilt doesn’t wear off and I continue to post useless things here.

Perhaps that might be a reason for Reggles hooking up with the weblog. I met him (on myspace lol) a month or so ago quite randomly. Reggles is from Puerto Rico in the caribean and hopefully we’re still on for a road trip of some sort around the UK and north-west europe sometime next year! I havn’t even met the guy! But our web shennanigans are priceless.

I can’t even remember how long ago I last posted, and can’t really be bothered checking. Things have happened though. Got my January exam results back; full marks in a geography resit and then two Cs in two economic A2 modules! I got the scripts back yesterday to see what went wrong and if I should submit for remark. Apparently it was pretty much just crap… so I am still going ahead with 4 economic modules in the summer. Argh. A lot have pretty much already got an A which makes it worse.

Had a few parties recently. Week’s had an awesome massive party a few weeks ago for his 18th which was funky. Bryony had one last saturday which was also cool because Jess went! And tomorrow I am going to hers until Sunday :D Can’t wait. Then it’s only a few more days until easter holidays. And the weather seems to be getting good. How fun.

Booked my driving test on Tuesday, which will be at 2.30pm on 2nd May!

Web-side; developed and released version 2 of ClanSites for intheholecs.net. Spent a lot of time reworking and modifying the edux core code to suit the clan management system, which is also a interactive network for gamers! Still got some work to do, notably on improving the ability of theming and customisation.

adios.

Island Life

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

People are crazy.Well not so much crazy as nosy scary-ish cuz last night my friends and I headed out to Old San Juan here in Puerto Rico (all my people shout whoot whoot. ahem.) to take some pictures. And of course, we’re all just having a good time making crazy poses and BAM the security guards who patrol the streets to make our lives Oh-so more secure stop in front of us to just watch our shoot. They were all like 8 and my friends and I, of course, didn’t feel so hot anymore cuz hell these two grown up men are just staring at us while talking crap. I was like “Will they ever leave?”. And no, the answer’s no. Regner, they will not leave. So they start asking “OH are you guys models???” My friends lied and said yes.

We’re all just liars and nosy people in this island, I guess. It must be because everyone in Old San Juan is a tourist so you automatically assume you will never see these people again and you decide that you can say whatever you want. Cuz hell, it’s not gonna matter.

You know what we should have done? Take pictures of the security guards. That would have been fun. Anyway, it was kinda nice to have people admire you and stop patroling the streets just to watch you. These are important people, mind you. The streets of San Juan were less safe for about 7 minutes because our Protectors were taking a break watching me and my friend. I guess if someone got shot last night, I am to blame, no? We’ll see.

Why Hello….

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

I’m Regner. I will be entertaining you with fancy expressions and surveys. Kidding.

Oz? Where have you gone?

Interesting things happen to me. Like sudden disappearances of people in my life. Like Oz.

Domain Downtime

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

If you had been trying to pay attention to this website over the past week I am sorry for it not being available. More specifically, the domain name [oziz.co.uk] was suspended… It expired right at the end of January and I notified my current webhost to renew the domain on my behalf. However since I had registered it with another company back in 2002 my host doesn’t have the control to modify or control the domain. So I got in contact with the original registrant who then denied they still held the domain. This left me in a bit of a pickle. I needed to renew oziz.co.uk however it seemed I had no holder to renew it through. This led me to contacting nominet (.uk domain watchdog) directly asking what my options were for renewal. They offered to transfer the domain over to another holder at a fee of £15. Hmm.. that put me off initially so I continued on my quest.

The whois for my domain name produced a tag and a URL for the actual holders of the domain name, I did not have knowledge of them because my registrant used these on my behalf. I check the URL but it was just a blank page. Then I got hold of an e-mail address yesterday so I contacted the company. I got a quick reply and within an hour I had transfered the domain name to the holder of all my other domain names. From there I was able to renew it and now it’s all back and running smooth :D

I’m sure you really cared about all that, but there you go.

I am currently working on the Gallery, especially the China album as I am writing up the diary I wrote along with the photographs. It’s going to take a while though…

I’ll make another post soon on what I’ve been up to since the last blog. Yours truely.

Snow Day(s)

Thursday, March 9th, 2006

Snow day - Chester RacecourseI should have posted this last week really, when it was Snow Day! In fact both Thursday and Friday were snow days off school because of the “bad” weather in Chester and North Wales. The post I did make (below) shows how much fun it was… a 4 day weekend almost felt like another half-term break :) It was really good! There are some photographs which I took last week whilst trapesing around Chester before we realised school was off.

On that point, I have developed a new oziz gallery which is really really nice. The core code is from Plogger and works nicely. From this I have made some ammendments and developed the style to fit in with the site.

Go here to check out the gallery and the photos from the snow day.
